(人材育成プログラム(e)海外研究者招聘)でお招きし、10月に以下の内容でワーク ショップ・現地視察を開催いたします。
Gregory氏のご専門はstream ecologyですが、米国オレゴン州での自然再生事業の現 状に関しても色々なお話が聞けると思います。

Gregory氏は主に魚類を対象とし、物質循環、水域や氾濫原の構造と機能および復元
に関する研究を行っています。
アメリカでも有数の研究林であるH.J.AndrewsにおけるLTER(Long term ecological
research)では水域生態学分野のリーダーを務めていらっしゃいます。
【ワークショップ】
日時：10月22日（木）および23日（金）の午後
場所：農学部中講堂
22日はGregory氏に講義形式でこれまでのご研究などに関してお話していただきま す。
23日は日本人からも研究発表を行い、シンポジウム形式といたします。
23日の研究発表会で発表いただける大学院生の方は、勝又まで、以下の内容をご連絡ください。

10月26－28日の間は岐阜県に移動し、自然環境共生研究センターを訪問し、センター
スタッフと木曽川を視察する予定です。
なお、道内での現地視察に参加したい方は、勝又までご連絡ください。
岐阜に関しては人数により同行可能な可能性があります。ただし、旅費は道内も含め
て自己負担となります。

Invitation for the GCOE seminar on stream ecology and restoration
We have scheduled the following workshop and field trip as part of the GCOE
program, 2009 Career-up Program in Global COE Program (e) Global COE
Invitation fellowship program for overseas researcher.
We have invited Professor Stanley Gregory from Oregon State University, US.
Prof. Gregory has carried out leading studies on stream ecosystems. He also
works on the development of restoration perspectives and practices that are
consistent with natural stream processes.
We welcome any of those interested.

Ecological Society of America 2009(米国生態学会)
8月1－7日に米国にて開催された、Ecological Society of America(米国生態学会)の第94回大会（開催地：Albuquerque, New Mexico）に、中村太士教授、赤坂卓美さん、勝又聖乃で参加してきました。
生態学の研究が進んでいる米国において、各地から集まった科学者たちの研究発表を聞き、自分や相手の研究内容に関して英語で議論できたことは、大きな刺激と経験になりました。
